Here is a great find for horror movie collectors! It's the incredibly rare Japanese laserdisc pressing of the fright-fest THE OBLONG BOX! Best of all it features the rare pairing of two of the horror genres greatest stars: VINCENT PRICE and CHRISTOPHER LEE! This is one of the most effective Edgar Allen Poe adaptations done by A.I.P. in the 1960's and it really has a creepy atmosphere.  Besides Price and Lee, there is a great group of horror regulars in the supporting roles, including Hilary Dwyer, Rupert Davies, and others. I personally carried this back from Tokyo but since I am selling off my entire laserdisc collection it has to go. It is still in it's original jacket complete with the Japanese OBI banner.... One more great plus to this disc is that, as an extra, it has a number of VINCENT PRICE/POE trailers after the main feature! Don't miss this disc, you may never see another copy for sale again!Â
SYNOPSIS:Â When Sir Edward Markham (Alastair Williamson) is horribly disfigured by African natives, he is kept chained and out of sight by his brother Julian (Vincent Price). When Sir Edward escapes, he goes on a killing spree in a desperate attempt to get even with the society that has made him a monstrous outcast. Julian enlists the help of African witch doctor N'Galo (Harry Baird) for medicine to make Sir Edward appear dead so he can be evicted from the house. Dr. Neuhardt (Christopher Lee) attempts to help the hideous human. There are plenty of female corpses around to drip rivers of fresh, hot blood in this feature, the 13th Edgar Allan Poe story in which Price has appeared.
