Edwardian Armand Marseille AM 1894 'Joanna' Bisque Head Doll 1910

A fabulous antique Edwardian period Armand Marseille Bisque Head Doll. A fabulous German doll made by the famous designer in 1910.

She is called 'Joanna' and is model number AM1894. She has a composition fully jointed body and a bisque head. She has fabulous baby blue glass eyes which are sleep eyes and an open mouth with four teeth showing. She has her original blond curled wig which is a little tatty (so would yours be if it hadn't been combed for a hundred years!).

Her body is in super condition, no chips or cracks, a tiny mibble from one of her toes, otherwise as new. Her fingers are perfect. No cracks or damage to her head which is very clean, some tiny flaking around the eye ball.

She is dressed in a gauze linen under dress with frilled collar. She has thick wool petticoat and a cotton and lace overdress. She has two knitted pairs of socks and a red ribbon around her waist. We believe her clothers are original. They are not spotless but have no damage.

The back of her head is marked AM 1894 Model Made in Germany. She measures 15" (38cm ) in height.

It was recovered from the nursery of a large Northumberland country house estate.
